Iowa becomes the 42nd state to accept camping reservations via the Internet at 9 a.m. Today half of the 5 200 state park campsites will be reservable online or by phone with the rest first come first served. The system mirrors cabin bookings and aims to map camper preferences for future site improvements.

Beginning at 9 a.m. today, campsites in Iowa state parks can be reserved online at reserveiaparks com or by calling 1 877 427 2757. Phone hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends. Internet reservations are available 24/7. Payments include check money order camping coupon and credit card with a 3 percent processing fee for cards. Non electronic payments must arrive within 10 days. A $4 Internet and $6 phone reservation fee applies. Reservations cover 1 to 14 nights and multiple campsites.

Treven Kielman a 21 year old Clarksville man died after a late Saturday night crash in rural Butler County. He rode in a vehicle driven by Justin Schroeder 21 of Greene that collided with Joshua Roosa 19 of Greene. Sioux Center man found not guilty of sex abuse
Christopher L. Visser, 28, of Sioux Center, was acquitted of third degree sexual abuse in Sioux County District Court. He pleaded guilty to supplying alcohol to a 17-year-old employee at his restaurant.
