Clarence Man in Serious Condition After Auto Crash
Clarence resident Howard Thein, 38, sustained possible rib fractures and internal injuries when his truck collided with a semi on Highway 30 east of Lisbon. Veterans Eighth Civil Service Jobs Hit 60 Percent
In 1946 nearly 60 percent of all appointments in the Eighth civil service region went to veterans. Of 23 513 federal civilian employees in the region last year 13 978 had military service. In Veterans Administration offices through the region 87 percent of male appointees were veterans and veterans receive point preference in examinations.
