Federal court orders Cricket Hollow Zoo to remove endangered animals
A federal magistrate ruled Cricket Hollow Zoo in Cedar Rapids must relocate its tigers and lemurs to another licensed facility within 90 days. Judge Jon Scoles said violations are pervasive and ongoing and barred further acquisition of endangered species without court approval. The case, filed in 2014 by Animal Legal Defense Fund on behalf of five Iowa residents, cites unlawful take possession and trafficking of protected species.

University of Iowa goat escape prompts procedure review
