Cedar Rapids council approves Apache Hose tax break and $7.31 million expansion
The Cedar Rapids City Council approved an urban renewal area for Apache Hose and Belting and granted a property tax break on a $7.31 million expansion that will create 15 jobs. The incentive cuts 64 percent of new taxes for 10 years, with an estimated $683,702 savings, and $1 million in new revenue after. Other city projects include a $4.16 million First Avenue East rehab and a Cedar River Trail upgrade with federal support. An Iowa City man, Bertran Perez, faces multiple charges after allegedly pointing a gun during a drunken incident and subsequent crash.
