DOT reconsiders options for Springville intersection safety
Iowa DOT plans to study alternatives beyond a controversial J turn design for the Highway 151 Sixth Street Springville Road intersection after public opposition. Proposals include partial or folded cloverleaf and full diamond interchanges, flashing warning lights, and 151 upgrades, while overpasses and signals remain opposed. Local officials urge simpler fixes like deceleration and acceleration lanes and closer warning lights as costs and site constraints limit major changes.
