About 1,000 workers at Alpena Garment accepted a 25 cent per hour minimum wage ending the first sitdown strike in Gov. Fitzgerald’s term. Strikers left the two plant buildings, 500 staying overnight, with others returning to work Monday morning.
Rome reports the fascist government issued a decree requiring all Italian Jews to register their total property and disclose details of their spent and commercial activities. The order, reminiscent of early Nazi anti Jewish actions, was published in the official gazette and takes effect immediately.
