DOT eyes five year Iowa plan as federal funds risk delay

Iowa transportation planners push a 2016 20 Iowa Transportation Improvement Program while assuming annual federal aid of 307.8 million for planning. Officials warn the Highway Trust Fund could wane this summer possibly halting or delaying major projects such as Highway 100 in Linn County and the I 380 I 80 interchange in Johnson County.

Hiawatha to repair key road with state grant

Hiawatha will use a 329 300 dollar Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy grant to reconstruct 1336 feet of Industrial Avenue. The project aims to widen the concrete road to support truck traffic and spur about 6 2 million in area investment, aiding D A D Manufacturing's proposed expansion and up to 270 local jobs.
