Arbitration losers named in NY report on salary rulings
New York AP reports RJ Reynolds and Joe Hesketh lost salary arbitration while Jamie Moyer and the Texas Rangers settled for 340 000 in a one year deal. Arbitrator Gil Vernon set Reynolds at 535 000, 110 000 higher than Reynolds 785 000 request. Hesketh lost 42 000 from 485 000 and is noted as the first salary cut since 1988.
