Dram shop settlement totals 5.5 million for Bedell family

The Bedell family reached a 5.5 million structured settlement in Linn District Court over injuries from a January crash near Cedar Rapids. David Bedell, 31, left quadriplegic and in a wheelchair, along with his wife and three children, will receive long term payments from two Iowa City taverns Airliner and Vine, and insurers. The suit claimed the other driver, Charles Campbell of Cedar Rapids, was northbound in the southbound lanes.
