Purse Snatching in Parkade Leads to Arrest
Cedar Rapids woman assaulted on the Parkade second floor as her purse was stolen. Jeanette Opsahl identified suspect and police arrested a 17 year old youth on Second Street SE. He was questioned by juvenile authorities. he did not fit the January theft description given by three women.

Car Crash Injures Youth Near St Ansgar
Special to The Gazette Thomas Schneider 20 of Hiawatha suffered severe facial injuries Tuesday when his car left Highway 218 two miles north of St Ansgar. He was to be transferred to a Cedar Rapids hospital.

Burglar Steals $90 From Cedar Rapids Home
A thief entered through an unlocked front door of a Cedar Rapids residence at night and stole $90 from a bedroom dresser while occupants slept. Eugene C. Hootman, 917 Fifth Street SE, reported the incident, noting the entry occurred between midnight and 4 a.m. The purse was black and contained the money.
