Purse stolen in 1960 finally returned to Oak Park woman
Audrey Wheeler retrieved her black suede purse from Oak Park Police after it was found in a restaurant wall during a remodel and kept for years. Inside were family photos and keepsakes that revived memories of her father, her sisters, and past life before the loss. The holder described the payout and memories as more valuable than money.
