ABA backs insanity law change in Hinckley case

Stolen Aga Khan Stallion Shergar Valued at 3.1 Million Ransom

Five or six bandits abducted Shergar from Ballymany Stud Farm in Ireland at gunpoint using the head groom as a hostage. They demanded a 3.1 million ransom and have not been heard from. Shergar, Horse of the Year 1981, had just sired a foal and is co owned by the Aga Khan. Police express uncertainty about suspects and motives, including IRA links or ransom by breeders.

Two Die In Light Plane Crash Near Garwin

A light plane crashed into a soybean field four miles east of Garwin in Tama County killing two men. Victim Peter John Youngblut, 30, of La Porte City, was identified. the other man's name remains withheld pending confirmation. Debris spread over a wide area. one victim ejected, the other trapped in the wreckage. Officials believe four left Waterloo for Oklahoma City Tuesday, two returned, and no IDs were found on the second victim.
