Jefferson teen undergoes nose reconstruction after prosthetic loss
Ryan, a Cedar Rapids Jefferson High junior, chose facial reconstruction with forehead flap tissue and ear cartilage to replace his missing nose. Doctors performed five surgeries between March and June, and Ryan returned to school while adjusting to his new appearance and staying active in sports.
