High medication costs worry Linn County mental health center
The Community Mental Health Center of Linn County faces potential overspending on psychiatric drug costs with a 1981-82 budget of 13500 dollars and a possible overrun of 2500 dollars to cover 80 to 90 percent of indigent patients' drugs. The board notes more patients now qualify for drug assistance, a 19.77 percent rise, and considers policy changes on patient drug purchasing. A part time consulting psychiatrist was approved to extend Wednesday hours. The board also explores combining adult and child unit spaces in a single building and evaluating alternate sites for privacy and capacity.
