Minnesota panel seeks disaster status for 69 counties
A 20 member Economic Crisis Commission appointed by Gov. Rudy Perpich recommended declaring 69 of Minnesota's 87 counties as economic emergency areas. The move targets counties with unemployment of 10 percent or higher and agriculture as a main occupation, to qualify for federal loans and aid if accepted.
