A Senate labor subcommittee praised unions for fighting Communist infiltra tion but warned of real danger to national security. It urged government action to curb Red penetration and called on unions to expel Communist dominated locals and draw away their members to deny the Soviets influence.
The DuBuque district court reports one Cedar Rapids division case closed and two bankruptcy petitions filed by George William Hodgson and Gertrude Hodgson of Eldora. The government case against Chicago Rock Island and Pacific railroad ended by confession of judgment for 2800 dollars plus costs from an original 16500 claim.
