Iowa couple sentenced in child endangerment case at home
Joshua and Ashley Drew faced charges linked to years of mistreatment of a boy who later required hospital care for critically high sodium levels. Investigations found the boy confined to a bedroom with urine and fecal stains, a recording camera, and restricted food. The victim, now 18, described mental and physical abuse and deprivation. The Drews accepted convictions avoiding prison. Joshua received two years probation for a misdemeanor and Ashley poised for a five year probation sentence for a felony. A Feb. 21 court date was set for Ashley’s sentencing.
