University of Iowa officials announce the eight year campaign raised 1.975 billion from 272 543 donors across 76 countries and all 50 states, surpassing the 1.7 billion goal while designating funds to specific programs and announcing future funding diversification.
Iowa’s 2016 fish tissue report shows minimal levels of chlordane and PCBs in Cedar Lake fish, with concentrations far below advisory thresholds. Five bass and three channel catfish tested reveal trace mercury, PCBs, and chlordane well under danger levels, supporting ongoing recreation and restoration efforts led by Dale Todd of Friends of Cedar Lake.
AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa plans to reassign some Medicaid members to in house case managers over the coming months. The move follows other insurers who already use in house management. The Gazette could not determine how many beneficiaries are affected or why the change is being made.
