Seven white Catholic missionaries including four nuns were killed near Salisbury when Rhodesian guerrillas attacked the Musami mission 36 miles north of the city. Two Jesuit priests and a brother were among the dead. a fourth priest was wounded. Vatican and local church leaders condemned the act as violence against the innocent.
