Bossa Nova Craze in Teens Split by Region and Beat
A nationwide poll of teens finds 33 percent of girls and 30 percent of boys unfamiliar with the Bossa Nova dance. Respondents weigh its Latin beat and quiet tempo, with 42 percent of boys and nearly half of girls approving, while 19 to 29 percent dislike it. Opinions vary by school and location, with some teens in Cleveland already unaware, while others praise its rhythm.
