Marion teachers clash with school board over contract tactics

MEA President Dale Pickering accuses the Marion Independent school board and labor consultant Gary Ray of wasting taxpayer money in a dispute over contract talks. He cites a December letter to Ray and board members as proof of obstructive bargaining and warns of potential PER Board action. The board says the MEA letter violated bargaining rules, while Ray defends his role as routine. The dispute coincides with a signed contract for next year and possible counter-complaints by the MEA.
