Cedar Rapids Groups Back Legislation To Aid Substance Abuse
Five bills before the Iowa Legislature draw support from Cedar Rapids groups including ASAC and Cedar Rapids PRIDE as they fund a lobbyist in Des Moines. The coalition backs preserving the IDSA as a state agency with its budget plus a 5 percent rise, tighter controls on drug paraphernalia, and insurance coverage for outpatient, residential, and inpatient treatment. Doctors Ought to Care and others have contributed funds as the group seeks additional donors to reach a $2,000 monitor lobbyist goal.
