Cedar Rapids motorist H B Christie misread a snow plume on the highway as a summerlike whirlwind and crashed into the rear of a highway commission snow plow bucking heavy drifts. The wreck left Christie's car wrecked and the plow advancing to clear the road.
Phoenix police arrested Floyd Hoover 27 of Phoenix on parole violation charges from Iowa. Detectives said Hoover was sentenced to one to five years for a boxcar robbery in Logan Iowa and paroled after serving three years at the Anamosa state reformatory.
