Alliance pushes 12 demands after Cedar Rapids shooting
The Iowa Justice Alliance unveiled a 12 point program calling for independent investigators and special prosecutors if a grand jury review is involved. The push follows Jerime Mitchell's Nov. 1 shooting by Cedar Rapids police officer Lucas Jones, who was later placed on paid leave. Officials cited Mitchell’s alleged drug involvement and physical attack on the officer during the incident.
