Edward J. Wedelstedt of 1663 Twenty-fourth Street NW reported $5,000 to $6,000 in quarters taken from a car parked in front of his home. He said the coins were collected over the weekend from businesses in Minnesota, North Dakota and Nebraska. The money was in four bank bags, police said.

Survived by daughters Clara Nassif and Louise Davies both of Burbank sons George Nofal of Burbank Theodore of San Diego and Harry of Las Vegas, 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Roger Kevin J., 17, Iowa City, charged with failure to maintain control after losing control on First avenue west and colliding with Charles J. Randall Jr.’s car.

James Allen Starkweather, 25, of 122 Thirty-third Street Drive SE, was charged Monday with carrying a concealed weapon after police found a loaded .45 caliber pistol in his car. The stop occurred at 7:13 p.m. in the 1400 block of Second Avenue SE for a burned out taillight. He was released on $500 bond.
Raymond Schwieger, 29, of 1053 Tenth Avenue SE, was charged with larceny of 30 dollars from Martin Oil at 201 Eighth Avenue SE after distracting an attendant while two companions entered. Investigation continues. Schwieger held in county jail in lieu of 2500 dollars bond.
