No-Contact Order Lifted in Rieflin Case
District Judge Jane Spande lifted the six week old no contact order shielding Brenna Rieflin from her husband Rick Rieflin a Linn County Jail detainee charged with two counts of first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder after the couple sought access to court cameras. The action comes as Brenna Rieflin sought permission to visit from the Linn County Jail where Rieflin is held on a 3 million dollar bond. The judge noted Iowa law usually requires a hearing to modify a no contact order but canceled it given Rieflin’s custody and to avoid further victimization of Brenna Rieflin in court proceedings. Brenna Rieflin had previously accused him of punching her.
