Veteran Pension Checks Reduced Across VA Roll in January
About 75 to 80 percent of the two million Veterans Administration pension recipients saw smaller payments in January after last year’s social security increase. An estimated 20,000 will lose pensions entirely due to the rise in their income, affecting those with low income who are totally disabled from non service connected causes, are 65 or older, or widows of veterans who died from non service connected causes. The 20 percent Social Security boost began last September but did not affect VA pensions until the January checks.
