Cedar Rapids Scouts Reach Eagle Rank Monday
Two Cedar Rapids youths Gary Gongwer and Willige Rinderknecht will receive the Eagle Scout award Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Cleveland School. Gongwer began Scouting in Lorraine California in 1983, earned Star and Life ranks, and was active in Camp Waubeck and Camp Big Horn. Rinderknecht joined Troop 33 in 1953, earned Second and First Class, and was a charter member of two troops, later joining Explorer Troop B5 and earning Life and Star ranks. Both have served as patrol leaders and are active in the Lutheran church and Roosevelt High School activities.
