Mahone Keynotes African Heritage Banquet for Museum Fundraiser
Mahone tied herself with leaders like Powell and Jackson and spoke to 300 plus attendees at the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel. Her 40 minute address urged Iowa children to explore the past to shape the future and support the African American Historical Museum at 809 Eighth Ave SE. Shirley Cutchlow praised Mahone as a role model for youth and chose her after seeing her on TV.
