DES MOINES Iowa senate reapportionment committee sent the Shaff plan to debate next week The bill by Sen David O Shaff would create a 60 member senate based on population and a 99 member house by area reversing the current allocation It emerged without a recommendation and allows 11 substitute reapportionment bills to be debated next week not yet scheduled for a specific day.

Des Moines AP report says municipal court bailiffs must receive the same fees, costs, and expenses as constables in justice of the peace courts for similar service. W. N. Bump signed the opinion written for Cedar Rapids Municipal Judge Loren Hullinger Jr. The ruling notes no district court fee provision exists for bailiffs, so the constable fee statute applies.

Prosecutions in Child Aid Fraud Ignored Report

Iowa legislative committee reported that failure to prosecute welfare fraud cases hampers collection of Aid to Dependent Children payments.
