DES MOINES Iowa senate reapportionment committee sent the Shaff plan to debate next week The bill by Sen David O Shaff would create a 60 member senate based on population and a 99 member house by area reversing the current allocation It emerged without a recommendation and allows 11 substitute reapportionment bills to be debated next week not yet scheduled for a specific day.

Iowa legislative committee reported that failure to prosecute welfare fraud cases hampers collection of Aid to Dependent Children payments. The Public Assistance Study committee urged the attorney general to file informations, warned about misuse of funds, and recommended guardianship provisions and higher ADC funding.

Clara Mabel Rogers wife of Elmer F Rogers of 814 Third Ave SE Cedar Rapids died in a hospital Wednesday night. Born October 2 1886 at Massillon Iowa she wed September 15 1909 at Oxford Junction. Survived by husband two daughters Mrs Thomas J McDonnell and Mrs Glenn O Williams a sister Mrs Frank E Millard four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services Beatty Bearles at 1 30 Saturday burial Cedar Rapids.
Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m. Friday to pay respects to the deceased at the present memorial.
Word has been received of the death of Wren O Allum Cedar Rapids resident for many years in Chicago where he moved years ago Born in Marengo January 16 1901 he is survived by his wife Adele his parents Mr and Mrs J C Brown of Tiffin three sisters Mrs John Schloeman of Cedar Rapids Mrs Carl Pelzer of Toledo and Mrs Alfred Erickson of Dysart and a brother James E Brown Jr of Coralville Services were conducted in Chicago Saturday.
Emma Johnson widow of Thomas Johnson of Cedar Rapids died early Thursday after a sudden illness. Born Aug 16 1889 in Missouri, she leaves two daughters Clara J Pruseck of California and Lily Johnson of Cedar Rapids, three sons Warren and Woodrow of Cedar Rapids and Lincoln Johnson of California. Services at Turner chapel time to be announced, burial Linwood. friends may call at the chapel.
