Betty Rinderknecht of Marion Route 3 has been named a candidate for women's day president at Iowa State College on February 11. Mortar Board selected her and five others based on scholarship and activities. Rinderknecht is a senior home economics journalism major and former secretary of Cardinal Guild Senate. She serves on the WRA executive council, social bureau and Student religious council.

Mrs. Bruce H. Fulton 48 of Springville a former Marion resident died Monday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a long illness. Born Alma Taylor in Colorado June 24 1910 she married in Illinois 1928. Surviving are husband two sons a daughter a brother and a sister with services planned in Marion.
