Iowa joins GOP states against California Prop 12 limits
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird led 23 states in a Supreme Court brief opposing California Proposition 12. The suit argues California’s housing standards unfairly burdens interstate commerce by imposing its rules on out of state producers selling in California. Bird says Prop 12 raises pork prices and could drive family farms out of business, with California dictating Iowa hog-raising practices.
