Iowa safety rebuts warrantless geofence searches in gaming probe
The Iowa Department of Public Safety defended the use of geofencing on college campuses as legally vetted as it charged 25 people in Johnson and Story counties in a sports betting investigation. It said legal counsel reviewed tools and that evidence was gathered constitutionally though courts will decide. The DCI led the case, with six agents, amid several lawsuits and motions challenging the method.
