Bird lovers gather for Maquoketa event to count birds across the region and contribute to a real time US Canada snapshot. Volunteers observe at Hurstville Interpretive Center and feeder marsh to help identify species during the four day activity. The African American Museum of Iowa and the Johnson County Historical Society present The Only One, a two venue exhibit through December showing photos from the late 1800s to today of African Americans who were the only person of color in an image.
