Plane crashes near Ames on approach during storm
A Piper Cheyenne turbo-prop owned by Manatt's Inc. crashed on approach to Ames Municipal Airport during a winter storm. Seven aboard escaped injury, as the aircraft clipped a power pole and line and slid into a cornfield about 100 yards from the runway. FAA will forward findings to NTSB for cause.
