Also Cedar Rapids 1956 Investment Corporation announces dissolution by unanimous stockholder consent dated December 1 1964 with notice published February 1966 by Fredrick B. Lehman president.

A six inch main burst in downtown Des Moines Monday night flooded the basements of Utica Clothing Co Sale's Jewelry and the Baker Shoe Store to five feet. Damage is estimated at over $50,000. Fire crews shut off the main about 9 30 pm after water works men opened three street holes. The jewelry store basement almost reached a 440 volt power box.

A barn fire on the Paul Haugen farm five miles north of Decorah caused about 30 000 in damage. The 22 by 62 foot barn burned along with 33 dairy cattle hay a combine and other equipment. A nearby grainary and a machine shed caught fire but were saved by Decorah firefighters who spent four hours on scene. Mrs. Haugen woke to a bright light about 545 am and faulty wiring is listed as a tentative cause.
The Fayette school board selects a site on current school grounds for a new elementary building. A vote on issuing 27500 in bonds to finance the eight classroom school will be on February 28.
