Summit Carbon seeks 876000 fee for SD CO2 pipeline permit
South Dakota regulators will charge Summit Carbon Solutions up to 876000 dollars to cover costs evaluating the new permit application. The Iowa based company already faced a rejected first application due to route conflicts with local siting laws and has reapplied with an adjusted route. The filing fee brings potential costs to nearly 1.47 million while the project plans transporting CO2 from 57 ethanol plants across five states to underground storage in North Dakota amid legal challenges and federal tax credit incentives. Nebraska lacks a CO2 pipeline permitting process.
