Tranquilizing Deer Effort At Arden Hills Falls Short
A Saturday tranquilizing operation at the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills failed to bag more than one deer in 90 minutes. Major Fred von Gortler led the effort with Harold Palmer and Ruth Deschene as observers while a Save the Deer committee pressed for relocation instead of killing. Deer were darted but the tranquilizer took effect slowly, prompting consideration of live trapping as an alternative.
