Fourteen Negro families move into Cedar Rapids white areas
The Council on Human Relations reports fourteen Negro families now live in formerly all-white Cedar Rapids neighborhoods. Half moved in 1964 and the other half between 1961 and 1963. Prior to 1961 only one family had lived in a white area. Some relocations are near the current Negro population but there are still areas needing progress. Truck Driver Faces Charge in Weighing Dispute

Driver Sentenced After Hit Run Crash

Police said he left the scene after his car struck a vehicle at Twelfth Avenue and Third Street SE at 6 30 p.m. Jo Ann A. Howard 33 of 1133 Fifteenth Street SE was treated and released from St Luke's hospital. Judge Loren Hullinger Jr. imposed 30 day fines for leaving the scene and drunkenness and the $50 fine for the control charge.
