Cedar Rapids Hog Market Steady As Prices Move By Weight

Prices on the Cedar Rapids hog market were steady Saturday. Friday’s quotes for 200 to 230 lb butchers ranged from 16.00 to 17.00 with some at 17.10, depending on grade and plant delivery. Sows 300 lbs and under were 14.00 to 14.85. Larger butchers saw progressive reductions per 10 lb weight bands up to 300, then steeper drops for heavier cattle. packers faced larger decreases as weight rose beyond 300 lbs.
