UNI ticket office funds stolen led to arrest of former assistant director
Former UNI ticket office assistant director John Gogola, 44, Cedar Falls, was charged with first degree theft after a state audit found he diverted more than 16 000 in ticket transactions to his personal credit card. The review covered Aug 2008 to Aug 2010 and identified 284 improper transactions on 112 accounts. Gogola held authority to reverse transactions and issue refunds to different cards, enabling misappropriation. He remains in jail on 50 000 bond as investigation continues.
