Attention Disorder Found Among Iowa Probation Group
A three year study in east central Iowa shows 12 percent of probationers and parolees have ADHD or ADD and 38 percent of juveniles in correctional programs are affected. Officials say symptoms include inattention and hyperactivity and recommend understanding handling rather than harsh punishment.

Iowa faces broad tree damage from October snowstorm
A state survey counted 58,000 urban trees damaged in 80 cities across 52 counties after October snowstorms.
