Iowa Commission Orders Utilities to Provide Home Energy Audits
The Iowa Commerce Commission set audit participation goals and warned that utilities failing to meet them must cover audit costs. Walk-through audits at no customer cost may replace fuller evaluations, aiming for at least 5 percent participation by February 1985 and 7.5 percent the next year amid only 2 percent current uptake. By last summer 15,000 audits had been done among 770,000 eligible customers.
