Paris AP reports a storm in the New Hebrides has swept away about 80 percent of homes in Port Vila, causing widespread destruction and displacing residents. The storm occurred this week, with officials assessing damage and relief needs ongoing.

Audrey Hepburn was voted top actress for The Nun's Story and James Stewart top actor for Anatomy of a Murder. Fred Zinnemann won best director for The Nun's Story. The 400 Blows was named best foreign picture.
