UI to host foreign policy speakers in spring course
Schoenbaum will teach a bi university course with Wayne Moyer that brings U.S. policy figures to speak at UI Mondays and Grinnell Tuesdays. Speakers include Michael Armacost Adm Stansfield Turner Larry Korb Chris Rossi and Jim Leach. By mid December 122 students enrolled of 150 capacity.

Three children dead in Detroit duplex fire
In Detroit a blaze killed Frank Richard 17 Kiona Richardson 11 and Kyra Richard 7 months old. Mother Laverne Leggett 37 jumped from a second floor window injuring her ankle. Two other children Kolada 15 and Keyquanna 4 were hospitalized in fair condition while James 14 and Emmanuel 10 escaped. Fire officials suspect overloaded electrical wires and a space heater near a Christmas tree contributed. Police investigate cause.
