Patients Saved in Sanatorium Blaze
Ninety patients were rescued early Saturday when the Mt. Washington tuberculosis sanatorium in Eau Claire was damaged by fire. Nurses, doctors, firemen, police and sheriff's deputies acted in split seconds to prevent disaster. No injuries reported. A frame section dating from 1912 burned. brick and stone section damaged by smoke and water. An investigation was begun to determine the fire's cause. Patients in critical condition were transported to a hospital by bus and ambulance.
