Joseph F. Coy Galyen a 48 year old Tilden farmer is hospitalized with a broken hip after a woodload accident. He credits a mongrel dog Pup with keeping him warm for 19 hours in a field until a fire was started and help arrived. A search party was summoned after his wife notified neighbors and another farmer found him minutes before the group arrived.
Cardinal Leon de Skrbensky-Hriste archbishop of Prague died Saturday at age 75. He had led the Prague archdiocese for 39 years.
At the Pane American conference in Lima a plenary session approved the Declaration of Lima led by Cordell Hull. The pledge unites western hemisphere nations against outside threats and violen ce. The accord calls for peaceful dispute settlement, noninterference, treaty sanctity, and orderly modification of alliances. Afranio Mello Franco outlined the seven point world order based on law.
The eighth Pan American conference named Bogota Colombia as the next site for its plenary in 1943. Lima Peru dispatch notes the decision was formalized Saturday night.
