Marble Santa Son Shaped in Carrara for Cedar Rapids Entry
A Cedar Rapids store features a 1300 pound Carrara marble statue in its entryway, purchased by Richard and Mrs. Buresh during a Carrara visit. The figure, chiseled in three stages by Signor Enzo Pasquini, stands beside a Christmas stocking cap and ties into gallery lore about Michelangelo. The piece was installed this fall and prompted insurance concerns. The article also notes a Cedar Rapids Community Theater finale on Beethoven's birthday and local hospital patients including Floyd Patterson and Rose Kennedy relatives.
