Couple Remodels Old Amana School Into Home
James and Sandy Reichmanns tore down interior walls of an Amana Society schoolhouse bought in October and moved in October, then remodeled the downstairs while living upstairs. They created a two thirds downstairs apartment with a beauty shop and laundry in the basement, opened an open kitchen family room plan, installed plumbing and wiring, and added a brick fireplace, with Spanish and Mediterranean decor and a yard with horses.
