Collins Workers Donate Gifts to Cedar Rapids Children’s Home

About $200 in clothing and other items were donated by Collins Radio Co night shift workers to the Children’s Home of Cedar Rapids. This marks the second year the Collins shift has acted as Santa, raising funds, purchasing and wrapping gifts after a worker collection, then delivering them for distribution at the home’s Christmas Eve party.

U S Envoy Thompson to Return for Washington Talks

U S Ambassador Llewellyn Thompson will fly to Washington on January 4 for consultations on Berlin and other problems and be away from Moscow for two to three weeks. An embassy spokesman said the trip was arranged before Anastas Mikoyan’s planned Washington visit but useful to have Thompson there concurrently.

Miss Lois Rayman has completed a screen test in Hollywood for the leading role opposite Tony Curtis in Operation Petticoat and awaits results. The 1952 Immaculate Conception High School graduate studied drama at the University of Iowa and returns to Cedar Rapids to spend holidays with her parents.

Cliff Robertson Lands FBI Role in Ten Years a Counterspy

Hollywood reports Cliff Robertson will play the FBI man in Ten Years a Counterspy to be produced by Columbia.
